If you are initiating or considering a project or already in delivery phase give us a call. We can help you improve process effectiveness in areas such as software moves, adds, deletions and changes, licence request and procurement, licence harvesting and pooling, and software packaging and release management. Rest assured that at ITAMS we recommend aiming for practical process improvements rather than endless analysis and documentation.

We will help define practical SAM processes for you based on known best practice and real world experience, regardless of whether these processes utilise existing or new systems. ISO19770 and the SAM ITIL standards only scratch the surface of the real world prolems you will be facing. With us you can expect an independent, objective assessment of your current software management methods with practical recommendations for improvement at the end of the engagement.

The key here is that good SAM processes must cross departmental and functional boundaries. When these boundaries are not well managed - for example the software request and purchasing process not having a licence harvesting and pooling process underpinning it - a great deal of money can be wasted.

It is very important that servicedesk, procurement administration and technical delivery of software to target machines and software builds are properly interlinked. In our experience, crossing those departmental process gaps is best initiated by an objective external entity such as ITAMS rather than to re-engineer from within.
